Who We Are:
The Addictions Counseling Training Institute (ACTI) is partnership between St. Francis Foundation (Secondary Care, Halfway House/Community Based) and Acadiana Recovery Center (Inpatient/Outpatient). ACTI utilizes the two programs as the sites for the comprehensive Counselor – In –Training (CIT) program based on a Continuum of Care concept. Use of these sites enables the CIT trainee to better understand the flow of treatment from primary care to secondary care, as well as offering insight into the value of these two modalities of treatment as a basis for long term recovery.
Future plans call for the development of other training sites as enhancements to the original training program. It is the organization’s plan that the training program will eventually include sites in all aspects of treatment from Detox through Outpatient Treatment, as well as interaction with agencies that provide collateral services. Exposure to a variety of treatment modalities gives the CIT a well rounded perspective on the client’s treatment needs and a broad overview of the continuum of care needed by today’s substance abuse client.
In addition to the CIT program, ACTI offers a Continuing Education Program for professional counselors. The program offers Board Approved CEU’s through workshops, conferences, and seminars featuring national and local speakers on the subject of substance abuse treatment and related topics. Both organizations are contract agencies of the State of Louisiana, licensed by the Department of Health and Hospitals.
Mission Statement
ACTI's mission is to provide comprehensive initial training and on-going education to the addiction counseling professionals.
