Keith Patin is a Lafayette native who is currently serving a second term as Lafayette City-Parish Councilman, representing constituents of District 8.
Appointments throughout his tenure in the Liaison Committees include: 2008 Leader of Finance and Economy; 2009 Leader of Traffic and Transportation; 2010 Leader of Police, Fire and Safety, and Leader of Traffic and Transportation; 2011 Leader of Information Services and Recreation and Tourism; 2012 Leader of Recreation and Tourism and Information Services; 2013 Leader of Traffic and Transportation and in 2014, he was Assistant of the Community Development Liaison Committee. In 2014, as well as 2015, he was elected to serve as Vice-Chairman of the Lafayette Public Utilities Authority.
Keith is certified with the State of Louisiana and Licensing through the State Licensing Board for contractors, and is entitled to practice under the classification of building construction. As a former owner of a specialty concrete business, he has worked in varied capacities in the trade over the past 30 years. Prior to that, Keith was a Financial Services Representative of New York Life Insurance Company and also of the Catholic Life Insurance Company. More recently, he and his late wife, Lou Patin, were co-owners of King-Patin Staffing.
He is a graduate of Our Lady of Fatima High School and a lifelong member of Our Lady of Fatima Church. He also became a graduate of Leadership Lafayette. As an adult, he successfully trained to become a Boy Scout Leader. While at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (formerly USL), Keith was a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity of which today he is in the Alumni Association. Keith is an avid outdoorsman on the local and statewide levels where he enjoys an active membership in Ducks Unlimited.
He is a family man and is the father of Evans Hunter Patin who is married to the former Kara Degueyter. He especially likes volunteering in his community, and at one time was a member in the Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce; Boys and Girls Club; Krewe of Bonaparte; Krewe of Rio; the Lafayette Educational Foundation; Lafayette Public Library Foundation and the Rotary Club.
