Donald L. “Don” Bertrand, an Independent Petroleum Landman, is married to the former Gaywynn Menard. The couple have six children and one granddaughter. He is the son of the late Judge Lucien C. Bertrand, Jr. and Dorothy Howe Bertrand.

Mr. Bertrand has served District 7 on the LINC (Lafayette IN a Century) Steering Committee, the Urban Design Subcommittee, and the Economic Development Subcommittee. He has also represented the Town of Broussard on the Transportation Policy Committee, where he has served as Chairman. As part of the Metropolitan Planning Organization, he has served on the Transportation Funding Subcommittee and the Roundabout Subcommittee.

Mr. Bertrand is a graduate of the Greater Chamber of Lafayette Leadership Lafayette Class of 2003. Mr. Bertrand was an elected member of the Lafayette Parish Republican Executive Committee and has been active in community based initiatives and campaigns. Mr. Bertrand served on the Industrial Development Board and the Board of Directors of Cite’ des Arts.
