Chief Financial Officer's Biography

Becky Lalumia, CPA, CGFO, Chief Financial Officer
(1998 - Present)

Becky began her career in government financing with the City of Lafayette in 1977. Since 1998 she has served as Chief Financial Officer. Her previous positions include Controller and Accounting Manager with the City of Lafayette.

She is a Certified Public Accountant since 1976 and a Certified Government Finance Officer since 2000. In 1975, Becky earned a B.S.B.A. degree from USL, (now University of Louisiana-Lafayette) with a major in Accounting and was recognized as the top-ranking student in the College of Commerce.

She is past president of the Louisiana Government Finance Officers Association and served six years on the board of directors. She is a past member of the Louisiana State CPA Society Governmental Accounting Committee, and a graduate of the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce Leadership Lafayette Class IV. For ten years she served on the MAPEL Federal Credit Union board of directors as Treasurer. Other community service includes the VITA board of directors and the United Way finance committee. In 2002 she was presented a "Women of Excellence" award by the Lafayette Commission on the Needs of Women, honoring women who have attained outstanding levels of achievement and whose contributions have made a significant impact upon the lives of our citizens, and in 2005 was honored as one of the “Women Who Mean Business” by The Independent.
