A plat qualifies for a BLA if:
1.) The realignment or shifting of lot boundary lines, including removal, alignment, or shifting of the interior lot boundary lines within the approved subdivision.
The following criteria must be met:
a.) Does not involve the creation of any new streets or other public improvements;
b.) Does not involve more than five lots of record;
c.) Does not reduce the lot size below the minimum area or frontage requirement established by ordinance;
d.) The proposal must otherwise meet all requirements of the Unified Development Code (UDC) Regulations.
Severed Tracts/Lots also qualify for the BLA process. A severed tract/lot is defined as:
A Parcel(s) of land in an approved subdivision where a portion has been expropriated or has been dedicated, sold, or otherwise transferred to the Parish or Municipality, thereby leaving a severed portion of the original property which requires a re-designation of lot number(s) and establishment of new lot boundary lines.
The BLA process is an Administrative process that generally takes 3-4 weeks to complete.
