UPDATE: Information Sought in July 5th Homicide

Detectives with the Lafayette Police Department are asking for the public’s assistance regarding information related to the homicide that occurred on July 5, 2010, in the 100 block of N. Richter. The victim, Joseph Lamar Dugas (27) (AKA “Fudge”), was beneath the carport at the residence when unknown person(s) shot Dugas one time. Dugas was left to die on the ground. Detectives believe robbery is possibly a motive for the homicide. A witness provided police with information that the shooting may have occurred at approximately 12:30 am. Leads connected to the homicide are being investigated by Detectives.

Detectives are asking anyone with any information regarding the homicide or may have observed suspicious activity in the area of homicide, to contact the Lafayette Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
