Students Taken on Weekday Getaway for Positive Behavior

Members of the Lafayette Police Department’s School Resource Officer program are escorting 35 students to Lake D’arbonne State Park in North Louisiana this week. These students were nominated by the officers working at their respective schools for displaying positive behavior during the entire school year. The students will spend 4 days at the park fishing, cooking and hiking on nature trails. Officers will also be presenting classes on social skills, conflict resolution and drug awareness. The trip was made possible in part by Capital One Bank, Lafayette Consolidated Government and the Lafayette Police Department. Below is a photo of the students just prior to departure.
