Elderly Couple Robbed at Motel

On June 26, 2010, at approximately 10:00 pm, the victims were inside of their room at the Best Value Motel, located at 1605 North University Avenue, when there was a knock at the door. The male victim, a 76 year old resident of Texas, opened the door, at which time the suspect pushed his way inside and produced a handgun. The suspect then threatened the couple with bodily harm and demanded money. After stealing an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled the room.

Lafayette Police responded and the male victim was transported to an area hospital with moderate injuries. The female victim, a 73 year old resident of Texas, was not injured. Police were able to identify the suspect and locate him in the 200 block of Paul Breaux. The suspect, Allen Wade Tolliver (21) of Lafayette, was arrested and charged with Armed Robbery, Aggravated Battery, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. The case remains under investigation.
