Suspect Arrested in False Imprisonment Case
Lafayette, LA – On September 16, 2013, at approximately 2:40 pm, Lafayette Police responded to the 100 block of Hansel Drive regarding a disturbance. The victim advised officers that her boyfriend, Richard Arceneaux, allegedly held her inside of their residence at gunpoint and refused to allow her to leave. Arceneaux is also alleged to have choked the victim until she went unconscious and threated her life with a firearm. The victim suffered minor injuries.
Lafayette Police secured three arrest warrants for the arrest of Richard Arceneaux (26) of Lafayette. The warrants are Aggravated Assault with a Firearm, False Imprisonment and Second Degree Battery.
On September 17, 2013, at approximately 3:00 am, Arceneaux turned himself into law enforcement without incident in Patterson, Louisiana. The case remains under investigation.
