Police Investigate Sexual Assault

On August 5, 2010, at approximately 11:00 pm, it was reported to Lafayette Police that a residence had been burglarized in the neighborhood of Orgeron Heights and that the suspect sexually assaulted the female resident. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment and released. The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 6 foot tall, heavy set, wearing shorts and an aqua colored t-shirt. This case remains under investigation by the Lafayette Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division.
