UPDATE: Suspect Sought in Robbery of Juvenile Victim
 

Lafayette, LA – On December 09, 2013, Shaquille Batiste surrendered to law enforcement and was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center for his pending warrants. The investigation remains ongoing.

Suspect Sought in Robbery of Juvenile Victim

Lafayette, LA – On December 5, 2013, at approximately 4:45 pm, Lafayette Police responded to an armed robbery in the 1200 block of Moss Street. After leaving a business, a male juvenile victim encountered the suspect near the 100 block of Mabel Street. The suspect allegedly produced a handgun and demanded money from the victim. The victim struggled with the suspect and the suspect fled the area. The victim received minor injuries from the struggle.

Detectives were able to identify the suspect as Shaquille Batiste (19) of Lafayette. A warrant for Armed Robbery and Simple Battery has been issued for the arrest of Batiste. Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Batiste is encouraged to call Lafayette Police or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
