Police Investigate Afternoon Bank Robbery on Heyman Blvd

Lafayette, LA – On December 11, 2013, at approximately 4:20 pm, Lafayette Police responded to the 300 block of Heyman Boulevard regarding a robbery of a bank. The suspect entered through the front entrance heavily clothed and with a white rag covering his face. A note was passed to the teller demanding money. The suspect was given an undisclosed amount of cash and fled out of the front door onto Heyman Boulevard. No employees in the bank were injured during the robbery.

The suspect is described as a black male 5’8” to 6’00’ tall and medium build. The suspect was captured on surveillance video at the time of the robbery.
Detectives are encouraging anyone with information about the robbery or the identity of the suspect to call Lafayette Police or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIP
