Suspect Arrested in Multiple Burglaries
Lafayette, LA – On February 2, 2014, at approximately 7:15 pm, Lafayette Police responded to the 500 block of Wind Haven Lane regarding a suspect burglarizing multiple vehicles.  Officers were able to locate the suspect exiting a garage of a residence. The suspect was in possession of property from burglarized vehicles in the area. 
The suspect was identified as Anthony Tessling (18) of Scott.  Tessling was charged with 2 counts of Car Burglary, 4 counts of Attempted Car Burglary, 1 count of Simple Burglary and Simple Escape.  The suspect was transported to the Lafayette Police Department for questioning and then to the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.  As officers were attempting to escort Tessling into the jail he attempted to flee, but was taken back into custody a short distance later.  The investigation remains ongoing.
