Employees Robbed as they Depart Business
Lafayette, LA – On April 22, 2014, at approximately 2:45 am, Lafayette Police responded to the 1400 block of Johnston Street regarding an armed robbery.  Two employees were exiting a business and walking towards their vehicles, when a black male suspect approached one of the victims and told him to “give it up.” The suspect stole two money bags with an undisclosed amount of cash and the victim’s cell phone.  The suspect then approached the second victim and stole his cell phone.  According to the victims, the suspect never produced a weapon but kept his hand in his pocket as though he had a pistol.
The suspect is described as a black male with facial hair, dark complexion, approximately 6’ tall, 245 pounds, wearing dark blue pants and a dark blue hooded sweat shirt. The suspect fled the area on foot.  The victims were not injured during the robbery.
