UPDATE: Suspects Sought in Purse Snatching on Ambassador Caffery
 
Lafayette, LA – Detectives with the Lafayette Police Department have issued arrest warrants for three suspects alleged to have participated in the April 29th purse snatching.  Warrants for Purse Snatching have been issued for the arrest of Memphis Matthews (27) and Douglas Ledet (24), both of Breaux Bridge. A warrant for Principal to Purse Snatching has been issued for Quincy Alexander (28) of St. Martinville.  Alexander is alleged to have aided Matthews and Ledet in leaving the scene.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the suspects is encouraged to call Lafayette Police or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.

Suspects Sought in Purse Snatching on Ambassador Caffery

Lafayette, LA – On April 29, 2014, at approximately 12:30 pm, Lafayette Police received reports of a purse snatching on a parking lot in the 3800 block of Ambassador Caffery Parkway.  The victim, a 34 year old female, had just exited her vehicle when she felt someone tap her on the shoulder.  A male voice instructed her to “Give me that”.  The suspect, a black male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, forcefully pulled the victim’s purse from her and ran north.  The suspect, who was accompanied by another black male wearing a white muscle shirt, ran to a convenience store and climbed into a vehicle.  The two suspects along with three other black males fled the area in the vehicle.  The suspect’s vehicle is a gold older model Honda Accord with a sunroof and missing the front bumper.  The victim received minor injuries during the incident.  
Lafayette Police are asking anyone with information about the purse snatching or the identity of the suspect(s) to contact Lafayette Police or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
