Police Investigate Shooting on Pearl Street
Lafayette, LA – On May 6, 2014, at approximately 2:30 am, Lafayette Police responded to the 200 block of Pearl Street regarding a shooting.  The victim, a 49 year old male, was in his yard when a truck stopped in front of his residence.  A suspect exited the vehicle and approached the victim requesting use of a cigarette lighter.  The suspect then produced a handgun and demanded the victim’s money.  The victim turned over an undisclosed amount of cash from his wallet to the suspect.  As the victim turned and walked back to his residence, the suspect shot the victim once in the shoulder.  The suspects then fled the area in the vehicle.  The victim was transported to an area hospital and is listed in stable condition.
A short time later the suspect’s vehicle was located in the 600 block of Goldman.  Three suspects fled the vehicle.  Officers were able to located and arrest two 16 year old male juveniles and charged them with Unauthorized of a Moveable and Armed Robbery.  Detectives continue to search for the third suspect involved in the incident.
