UPDATE Suspect Sought in Overnight Shooting
 

Lafayette, LA – Hebert Montgomery was arrested this morning in District Court by the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office Warrants Division without incident.  The case remains under investigation.  
 
Suspect Sought in Overnight Shooting

Lafayette, LA – On May 14, 2014, at approximately 8:45 pm, Lafayette Police responded to the 200 block of North St. Antoine regarding a shooting.  Witnesses tell police the suspect produced a handgun when one of the victims called out to him.  The suspect then allegedly began shooting at a crowd of people standing in front of a residence.  There were no victims injured in the shooting.  The suspect fled the area in an unknown direction.  The motive behind the shooting remains unknown.
Detectives with the Lafayette Police Department have issued an arrest warrant for Hebert Joseph Montgomery, III (21) for 4 counts of Attempted First Degree Murder.  Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Montgomery is encouraged to call Lafayette Police or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
