Lafayette, LA – Detectives with the Lafayette Police Department have released a photo from surveillance video that captured the two suspects in the business. Anyone with information as to the identity of the two suspects is encouraged to call Lafayette Police or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
Victim Robbed After Posting on Social Media

Lafayette, LA – On May 23, 2014, at approximately 11:40 pm, Lafayette Police responded to a robbery at a business in the 1300 block of 12th Street. The victim told police he was sitting in his business when two suspects entered with handguns. The suspects were two black males wearing black clothing with white t-shirts covering their faces. The victim fled towards the rear of the business at which time one of the suspects fired multiple shots, striking the victim in the back. The suspects stole an undisclosed amount of cash and then fled the area on foot. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he is listed in stable condition.
According to responding officers, 20 minutes prior to the robbery, the victim had posted a picture of himself on a social media site. In the picture, the victim was sitting in the business with a large amount of cash.
Detectives with the Lafayette Police Department are encouraging anyone with information about the robbery to call Lafayette Police or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
