Two Suspects Sought in Overnight Robbery of Chain Store

Lafayette, LA—On June 16, 2014, at approximately 9:50 pm, Lafayette Police responded to the 3200 block of Louisiana Avenue regarding a robbery.  Employees at the Target Store advised that two black male suspects with pillow cases over their heads entered the store and approached the registers.  The employees ran to safety and the suspects grabbed an undisclosed amount of money and fled out of the store.  The suspects were observed entering an older model pickup truck.
At approximately 10:00 pm, Lafayette Police responded to a vehicle fire in the 1500 block of East Pont De Mouton Road.  The vehicle was a 1999 Chevrolet pickup truck that was reported stolen in the 300 block of Lafayette Street at 3:00 pm, on this date.  The vehicle is believed to be the truck used by the suspects in the robbery.
Lafayette Police are releasing photos of the suspects that were captured on surveillance video inside of the store. Detectives are encouraging anyone with information about the robbery or the identity of the suspects to call Lafayette Police or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
