Waffle House Robbed at Gunpoint
Lafayette, LA – On August 1, 2014, at approximately 12:25 pm, Lafayette Police responded to the 2100 block of the NE Evangeline Thruway regarding an armed robbery.  Employees of the Waffle House advised officers at the scene that the suspect entered the business with his face covered and armed with a handgun.  The suspect forced the employees to give him an undisclosed amount of cash from the register and fled out of the rear door.  The suspect was last seen running in the direction of Dale Street.  There were no injuries reported at the scene.
The suspect is described as a medium built black male in his 20’s.  He was captured on surveillance video as he entered and exited the business.
Detectives with the Lafayette Police Department are encouraging anyone with information about the robbery or the identity of the suspect to call Lafayette Police or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
