Police Seek Suspect in Weekend Shooting

Lafayette, LA – On June 4, 2016, at approximately 11:00 pm, Lafayette Police responded to an area hospital regarding the victim of a shooting seeking medical attention.  According to the 19 year old male victim, he was walking on the sidewalk in the 800 block of Martin Luther King Drive when an older model black Cadillac stopped in the roadway near him.  A suspect sitting in the vehicle fired one shot from the window, striking the victim in the right leg.  The Cadillac immediately sped away from the scene.  The victim was transported by vehicle to the hospital and is listed in good condition.

Detectives with the Lafayette Police Department are encouraging anyone with information about the shooting or the identity of the suspect to call Lafayette Police or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
