Update: Victim of Overnight Shooting Dies
 

Lafayette, LA- On August 31, 2016, the victim of the overnight shooting passed away from complications related to his injuries. The deceased has been identified by Detectives as 32 year old Lance Hudson of Lafayette.  Detectives are pursuing many active leads at this time.

Anyone with information about this shooting or the identity of the person responsible is still urged to contact the Lafayette Police Department or Lafayette Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
 
Police Investigate Overnight Shooting
Original Release: August 31, 2016 at 8:45am
Lafayette, LA— On August 30, 2016 at approximately 9:15pm, officers with the Lafayette Police Department responded to a gunshot victim in the 300 block of Morse St. The victim, a 32 year old male, was found unresponsive inside of a vehicle. The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was transported by ambulance to an area hospital, where he remains in critical condition. The investigation is ongoing as detectives work to develop a suspect in the shooting.
