Update Arrest in MArch 18th Shooting
 

Lafayette, LA- On April 3, 2017 at approximately  8pm, Lafayette Police arrested 31 year old Amandeus Waltemond Alex (b/m 03/27/1986) of Lafayette in connection to the March 18th Shooting in the 1100 block of E. Simcoe St. Lafayette PD’s Special Investigative Unit, with the assistance of Lafayette City Marshalls, located and apprehended the suspect without incident. Alex was identified as the suspect in the shooting and his vehicle was found to fit the description of one seen fleeing the scene of the shooting. Alex was booked for Attempted 2nd Degree Murder.

Update: Police Investigate Shooting on E. Simcoe St.
 
Lafayette, LA- The 33 year old victim from the March 18th shooting on E. Simcoe condition has now been listed as stable at this time. Police are attempting to locate the suspect who is described as a slim black male in his 20’s, approximately 6’0 tall with a short afro hair style. He was last seen fleeing the scene in a white four door older model Buick. Detectives are still actively following up on leads as the investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Lafayette Police or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
 
 
 
 
Police Investigate Shooting on E. Simcoe St.
 
Lafayette, LA- On March 18, 2017 at approximately 6:44 pm, Lafayette Police responded to a local business in the 1100 block of E. Simcoe St. in reference to shots fired. Upon arrival a 33 year old male victim was located inside the business suffering from several gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was listed in critical condition. The investigation remains ongoing as detectives are still actively following up on leads in reference to the incident.
