Update: Suspect Arrested in Pedestrian Hit and Run
 

Lafayette, LA- At approximately 12:30 pm today, Lafayette Police arrested the suspect sought in this hit and run incident. The suspect was further identifies as Nataja Portalis, not “Natasha”, which was the name given to investigators initially. Portalis was taken into custody and booked on the warrant for two counts of Attempted Manslaughter.  One of the victim remains in critical condition.

Lafayette, LA— On April 23, 2017 at approximately 2:00am Lafayette Police responded to the 100 block of E. Cypress Street in reference to two female pedestrians that were struck by a vehicle. Both victims were transported to a local hospital. One sustained minor injuries and the other is now in critical condition. It was determined that the suspect intentionally struck the two victims after an altercation that occurred between the two parties. The suspect has been identified as 21 year old Natasha Portalis of Lafayette  (b/f DOB-12/17/95). An arrest Warrant has been issued for Portalis on two counts of Attempted Manslaughter. Portalis was driving a newer model dark blue Nissan Maxima.
Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Natasha Portalis is asked to contact the Lafayette Police Department or Lafayette Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
