Lafayette Consolidated Government (LCG) released its “External Agency” Applications at the end of last month.
Through the External Agencies Funding Program, LCG supports Social Service and Arts and Culture agencies that enhance the economic, social, cultural and educational welfare of citizens of Lafayette Parish. Grants are available to Social Service and Arts and Culture agencies with 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status from the Internal Revenue Service, limited to funding authorized by the City-Parish Council.
The LCG Community Development Department administers the Social Service funding program. A Social Service agency is generally defined as an agency that provides direct services to people in need. A Social Service agency may serve the general public or specific populations (e.g. children, victims of domestic violence, persons with disabilities, etc.).
LCG partners with Acadiana Center for the Arts (AcA) to administer the Arts and Culture funding program. An Arts and Culture agency is generally defined as an agency whose mission statement makes clear that the agency’s primary purpose is to develop, promote, encourage and/or present the arts to the public. Eligible agencies should insure community accessibility to programs and target diverse populations.
Grant applications are due by 4:30pm Friday, June 28, 2013. Applications received after this time will neither be accepted nor reviewed.
