Lafayette Transit System Delays Expected Due to Funeral Procession

Lafayette Consolidated Government’s Department of Public Works Transit Division has announced today, due to the funeral procession for Cpl. Michael Middlebrook on Friday, October 6 from approximately 12:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m., LTS is expecting serious delays of service associated with the police procession. 
The Lafayette Police Department has announced the funeral procession route for Cpl. Michael Middlebrook. Immediately following the funeral services for Cpl. Michael Middlebrook on Friday, October 6, a procession consisting of Family and Law Enforcement will leave Our Savior’s Church and proceed on the following route through the City of Lafayette:
- E. Broussard to Kaliste Saloom Rd. –turn right
- Kaliste Saloom Rd. to W. Pinhook Rd. – turn left
- W. Pinhook Rd. to E. University Ave- turn left
- University Ave. to W. Congress St- turn left
- W. Congress St. to Bertrand Dr. – turn right
- 1000 block of Bertrand Dr. is the end of the procession
The procession will end at Delhomme funeral home, where the family of Cpl. Middlebrook will stop and all non-authorized vehicles will be dismissed and must continue north on Bertrand Drive
Citizens who wish to pay their respects and show appreciation to Cpl. Middlebrook and his family for his ultimate sacrifice are welcome do to so along the procession route.
All motorists in the area should be prepared for significant traffic delays or plan alternate routes.
