Representatives of NextGEN (Bernhard) Utility Systems delivered a presentation to the Lafayette City-Parish Council on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 to provide an update on a proposal to enter into an agreement with Lafayette Consolidated Government (LCG) with reference to Lafayette Utilities System.

On October 8, 2018, Lafayette Public Utility Authority Chair Liz Hebert released the proposal, viewable online at http://www.lafayettela.gov/Presidents/SiteAssets/Files/NextGen%20Proposal%20-%20LUS%20Economic%20Study,%20Assessment.pdf, and stressed “the importance of full transparency and allowing citizens the opportunity to review the proposal.” Hebert further stated, “The presentation allowed representatives of the company to provide an overview of the proposal. I would like to emphasize that a vote on this matter will not be taken at this time.”

Citizens who wish to hear the proposal may do so on LCG’s USTREAM channel online (accessible through the LCG website). Again, the LPUA wants to ensure that the public has the opportunity to review the document and the presentation.
