PlanLafayette: UDC (Unified Development Code) workshop to be held Monday, April 7
Posted: 4/4/2014 10:00 AM

Lafayette, LA-- Lafayette Consolidated Government (LCG) requests input from the public as the process to update the zoning, parish land use, and subdivision regulations.  LCG is preparing a Unified Development Code (UDC) that will consolidate these regulations.  This document will implement the Comprehensive Plan (currently in draft form) and will determine how Lafayette grows and develops in the future.

Public input is an essential step in the updating process, as it provides planners with the necessary guidance to best serve Lafayette residents. Please consider attending the following public event on April 7 at the Rosa Parks Transportation Center from 5-7:30 p.m.

The workshop will be broken up into two sections:

Open House 5 pm to 6 pm

During the first hour, anyone with questions will be able to drop in for face to face discussions with the Consultant and LCG staff about the existing zoning, land use and subdivision regulations, and give opinions about desired changes.

Public Workshop  6 pm to 7:30 pm

Following the open house, the consultant and LCG staff will present the process and initial thoughts about current zoning and land use issues at 6 p.m.  Following the presentation, attendees will have an opportunity to offer ideas and feedback and to communicate with others who are involved in this process.
