Lafayette, Louisiana, - Neighborhood Counseling Services and
the REALTOR® Association of Acadiana will sponsor the annual Landlord/Tenant
Rights and Responsibilities Fair Housing Seminar. This year’s event will
be held on Thursday, June 19, 2014 from 8:15 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. at the Clifton
Chenier Center, located at 220 West Willow, Bldg. C.
Presenters will include Marilyn Leufroy, Louisiana Attorney
General’s Office, Judge Douglas J. Saloom, Lafayette City Court and Gregory L.
Landry, Acadiana Legal Service Corporation. This seminar will cover the
following topics: Fair Housing Laws, leasing agreements, eviction
procedures, deposits, property maintenance, grievance procedures, management
liabilities, and other related topics. Renters, landlords, property
managers, realtors, housing counselors, housing advocates, potential home
owners, as well as, the general public are encouraged to attend. This
seminar is a free event.
