The Vehicle Maintenance Division is responsible for maintaining approximately 1,502 pieces of equipment which include:

  • 64 pieces of heavy equipment
  • 11 forklifts
  • 102 mowers
  • 48 generators
  • 8 street sweepers
  • 9 pumps
  • 122 trailers
  • 10 compressors
  • 6 motorcycles
  • 2 wreckers
  • 77 tractors
  • 80 large tandem trucks
  • 29 fire trucks
  • 7 parish tankers
  • 9 pump lift stations
  • 90 SUV’s
  • 7 boats
  • 12 ATV wagons
  • 55 miscellaneous items (example: motor mixer)
  • 4 speed sign trailers
  • 1 concrete truck

 

In excess of 3,100 preventive maintenance functions are performed annually on the fleet.

Primary Operating Functions:

  • Prepare and develop specifications for Fleet/Equipment to be bid out for purchase
  • Administer a preventative maintenance program for the LCG Fleet/Equipment
  • Maintain a Fleet/Equipment and Parts Inventory
  • Perform and oversee all Fleet/Equipment Repairs
  • Perform Paint and Body repairs for the Fleet/Equipment
  • Operate and Maintain two fueling stations
  • Operate and Maintain a Small Engine Mechanic Shop
  • Perform and Maintain Fleet/Equipment Maintenance Records
  • Prepare Retired Vehicles for Public Auction
