Director's BiographyGail Smith, Director of Administrative Services Gail Smith, has over 30 years of administrative and management experience in both the government and private sectors. She formerly served as the Director of the Lafayette Public Library, where she was instrumental in acquiring the funding for the largest building program in the history of the library. A native of Monroe, La., she acquired her bachelor’s degree from UL (then USL) and her master’s degree from the University of Alabama. She is very involved in the community, currently serving on the boards of VITA and the Lafayette Public Library Foundation, and has recently served on the boards of Downtown Lafayette Unlimited, the Rotary Club of Lafayette, and the Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce. In 2002 she was presented with a “Women of Excellence” award by the Lafayette Commission on the Needs of Women and in 2003 with the “Public Service Vocational Award” by the Rotary Club of Lafayette.
