LCG External Agencies Funding Program2011-12 LCG External Agencies Funding Program Through the External Agency Funding Program, Lafayette City-Parish Consolidated Government (LCG) supports Social Service and Arts and Culture agencies that enhance the economic, social, cultural and educational welfare of citizens of Lafayette Parish. The LCG Community Development Department administers the Social Service funding program. LCG partners with Acadiana Center for the Arts (AcA) to administer the Arts and Culture funding program. Grants are available to Social Service and Arts and Culture agencies with 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status from the Internal Revenue Service. Grant applications are due by 4:30pm Thursday, June 30, 2011. Applications received after this time will not be accepted or reviewed. A Program/Project grant provides funds for a specific program or project that meets a specific community need.
An Operations grant provides funds for operating expenses such as professional salaries, employee benefits, transportation, supplies and materials, telephone, utilities, postage, travel and meetings, rent, equipment/maintenance, and insurance.
A social service agency is generally defined as an agency that provides direct services to people in need. They may serve the general public or specific populations (e.g. children, persons with disabilities, etc.) An arts and culture agency is generally defined as an agency whose mission statement makes clear that the agency’s primary purpose is to develop, promote, encourage and/or present the arts to the public, to insure community accessibility, and to target diverse populations.
