Power Plant Millwright (LUS) - $3,247-$4,058/month/DOE
Maintains all machinery, mechanical systems, valves, chemical feed systems, piping and related equipment for three natural gas fueled steam turbine and four combustion turbine electric utility generating units. Position is subject to 24-hour call and required overtime. Duties will include working in areas that have occupational and environmental hazards. Performs tasks requiring advanced knowledge and skill in welding, machining, repair and troubleshooting of heavy industrial rotating machinery. Works as an instrument man on a survey crew to offer assistance to the Public Works Department in the construction of drainage projects. Substation and Communication Technician (LUS) - $22.15-$27.69/hour/DOE
Work involves inspections, maintenance and repairs on substation high voltage circuit breakers, power transformers and associated protective relaying equipment. Reads and interprets blueprints and wiring diagrams of existing protective, control, supervisory and related equipment. Graduation from high school supplemented by advanced coursework in electrical and electronic equipment maintenance and repair or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Cement Mason (Public Works) - $11.48-$12.00/hour/DOE
Skilled work involved in the construction, reconstruction and repair of concrete and masonry structures, and related activities. Graduation from high school and some experience in the general repair or maintenance of concrete and masonry structures; or completion of a recognized apprenticeship which would indicate possession of the requirements necessary to satisfactory perform this work; or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Valid driver’s license required to apply. Possession of a valid Louisiana Chauffeur’s License (Class D) prior to employment. Animal Control Officer (CAO) - $12.83-$16.04/hour/DOE
Position is responsible for the enforcement of the portions of the Animal Control Ordinance which cover the apprehension of various types of animals including diseased, unlicensed, dangerous, and stray animals. Incumbents exercise independent judgment, tact, and diplomacy in the enforcement of the Animal Control Ordinance in accordance with established policies, procedures, and guidelines. Also, incumbents may assist in the euthanasia and disposal of animals. Background checks will be conducted. Completion of high school and some experience dealing with the care of animals; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
