The mission of the Louisiana Community and Technical College System is to prepare Louisiana's citizens for improved quality of life, workforce success, and continued learning. The Adult Education Program, often called the GED program, is designed for persons who have not completed the twelfth grade. SMILE Community Action Agency serves as a primary provider of social services in the tri-parish region of St. Martin, Iberia and Lafayette. Chartered as a non-profit organization in 1968 and headquartered in Lafayette, SMILE provides a wide array of programs, including Head Start, transportation, HUD counseling, emergency assistance, family transitional shelters and weatherization. Vocational Rehabilitation, the flagship program of Louisiana Rehabilitation Services (LRS) , is a one-stop career development program that offers individuals with disabilities a wide range of services designed to provide them with the skills, resources, attitudes, and expectations needed to compete in the interview process, get the job, keep the job, and develop a lifetime career.
