The Department of Community Development (DCD) has been a part of the local government since 1976. The department's goal is to promote services geared toward enhancing the physical, social, economic, educational, and cultural conditions of the jurisdiction of the Lafayette Consolidated Government.
Over the years, the DCD has served the Lafayette area by providing: housing services to low/moderate-income households and special needs households; economic development opportunities; housing and financial counseling; neighborhood revitalization activities; art, cultural, and historic programs; senior programs; homeless services; and many others.

Rebuild Healthy Homes: Helps homeowners, volunteers and other workers restore damaged homes in a way that puts people first. It includes how-to methods, tips and improvement ideas for safe restoration that result in not just a livable dwelling, but a healthy home that offers even more than before.
