Open House Offers Preview of Evangeline Corridor Planning Work
Posted: 6/5/2017 9:00 AM

Planning for the Evangeline Corridor neighborhood revitalization is almost complete. Members of the public have another opportunity to review proposed catalyst projects on June 8, when the Evangeline Corridor Initiative (ECI) holds an Open House at Rosa Parks Transportation Center, 101 Jefferson St., from 4 to 8 p.m.
In recent weeks, community members who live and work in the Corridor have held meetings using a kit called a “Meeting in a Box,” to help evaluate catalyst projects: improvements with the potential to enhance the quality of life and spark investment.
“With 27 Meetings in a Box completed to date, over 225 community members participated in the latest phase of planning. Now, we need final input from residents and business owners to complete the planning process for neighborhoods along each side of the Corridor path,” said Carlee Alm-LaBar, LCG Director of Planning, Zoning, and Development.
Open House attendees will have an opportunity to preview the Evangeline Corridor planning work and District Design Manuals in addition to information about catalyst projects. A 6-by-18 foot map will also be available as a visual aid to show potential locations of the catalyst projects.
