A Briefing of the Lafayette Public Utilities Authority (LPUA) will be held on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at 5:30 p.m. Representatives of NextGEN (Bernhard) Utility Systems will be recognized to provide an update on a proposal to enter into an agreement with Lafayette Consolidated Government (LCG) with reference to Lafayette Utilities System.

LPUA Chair Liz Hebert released the proposal, viewable online at http://www.lafayettela.gov/Presidents/SiteAssets/Files/NextGen%20Proposal%20-%20LUS%20Economic%20Study,%20Assessment.pdf, and stressed “the importance of full transparency and allowing citizens the opportunity to review the proposal in advance of tomorrow’s meeting.” Hebert further stated, “The meeting will allow representatives of the company to provide an overview of the proposal. I would like to emphasize that a vote on this matter will not be taken during the October 9th meeting.”
Citizens are invited to attend tomorrow’s meeting to hear the proposal. For citizens who are unable to attend, the meeting will be broadcasted live on Acadiana Open Channel (AOC), as well as on LCG’s USTREAM channel online (accessible through the LCG website). Again, the LPUA wants to ensure that the public has the opportunity to review the document.
