About SafeLight

The SafeLight Lafayette program was developed to address the rising number of crashes caused by motorists running red lights. SafeLight is unique in that it de-emphasizes the enforcement component of the program and focuses on how its use of red-light cameras can create social change by making motorists more conscious of the way they drive. SafeLight differentiates itself from other red-light monitoring efforts in that its purpose is to create a significant improvement in public safety by reducing crashes, at no cost to the taxpayer.
