Established in September 2007, Lafayette's SafeLight program is one of Louisiana's first red-light monitoring programs.

Several Lafayette intersections are equipped with SafeLight cameras that monitor and record motorists running red lights.

SafeLight's goal is to decrease the number of motorists running red lights and the crashes they cause.
