Welcome to the Region 4 Workforce Development Contact Database
This information for employers, jobseekers, community services, education
representatives, workforce development, economic development and corrections
resources was developed as the result of the Louisiana Workforce Commission’s Summit.
In October of 2008, the Louisiana Workforce Commission, formerly the Louisiana Department of Labor, hosted the Southern Regional Workforce Summit in Lafayette. More than 450 people joined Gov. Jindal, the Commission and its partner agencies to discuss the issues facing business and industry that are critical to the development of an effective, demand-driven workforce development system.
Since that meeting, the BRING (Bringing Regional Initiatives in Greater Acadiana) Committee was formed to assist area businesses, educational, economic development organizations and government representatives with the development of a viable workforce development strategy. Monthly meetings are held to discuss and network to solve issues that have been identified since the Summit. These meetings are regional and move to various locations in the eight (8) parish area that includes Lafayette, St. Landry, St. Martin, Vermilion, Evangeline, Acadia, St. Mary and Iberia Parishes. It is a valuable workgroup that has currently identified multiple areas that are being addressed and are highlighted by the work of subcommittees.
You are encouraged to become engaged and involved in the work of the various subcommittees and attend the meetings to learn of the work being accomplished. If you have any questions regarding any of the subcommittees, please call (337) 262-5540 for additional information.
