SEWER GRANT PROGRAM
Bayou Vermilion District’s (BVD) Water Quality Department is currently working with the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ) with on-site sewer system inspection, education and outreach with the goal of improving the water quality in the Vermilion River.
Lafayette City-Parish Consolidated Government is partnering with BVD to assist eligible low-moderate income homeowners in making the necessary repairs to the system for it to work properly. This includes but is not limited to aerator, discharge pump, field lines, discharge lines and holding tank. All activities are subject to Inspector review in consultation with the Housing Rehabilitation Specialist.
The Lafayette City-Parish Consolidated Government’s (LCG) Sewer System Program is funded by the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). This program is managed by the LCG, Community Development Department (CDD).
Program qualification requirements are:
- Applicant must reside in the home at the time they apply;
- Applicant must own the property and have lived there for at least 3 years; and
- Applicant must meet the following HUD income guidelines
