CLASS TITLE: EQUIPMENT OPERATOR I (PARC)
MINIMUM STARTING PAY: HOURLY - $10.21-$12.76/DOE , MONTHLY - $1,770-$2,212/DOE
PURPOSE AND NATURE OF WORK
Position is responsible for operating ZTrak mowers, weed eaters, blowers, chain saws, tree trimmers, and other outdoor power equipment. Performs minor repairs and maintenance work to equipment. Works with crews to clean restrooms, pick up trash, cut grass in public parks, cut and trim branches, paint, spray herbicides, and perform other duties to maintain parks. Incumbents will be required to operate a vehicle with a trailer attached in order to transport equipment from site to site.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to read and write; ability to operate ZTrak mower independently; experience in the operation of equipment described herein; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
NECESSARY SPECIAL QUALIFICATION
Must possess a valid driver’s license to apply. Must have valid Louisiana driver’s license prior to appointment.
TYPE OF EXAMINATION
Performance test will be conducted and applicants are expected to independently operate a ZTrak mower.
