Thomas L. Glover, Sr. is a native of Tallulah, La. After graduating from Grambling State University, he began his career in law enforcement with the Dallas Police Department. After almost 40 years in law enforcement with the Dallas Police Department, he began as the Chief of Police on December 31, 2020 in Lafayette, La with the Lafayette Police Department. His past experiences include Patrol, Recruiting, Property Crimes, Domestic Violence, Detention Services, 911 Communications, Neighborhood Policing, Community Engagement (Policing), and Nuisance Abatement. He holds certifications as a Master Peace Officer, Expert Domestic Violence, Critical Incident Response, National Incident Management Systems, and Combating/Surviving Terrorism.
Chief Glover is a graduate of the Caruth Police Institute Executive Leadership Series, the Institute for Law Enforcement Administration’s School of Police Supervision, the International Association of Chiefs of Police Management, Advanced Police Management, and Police Time Management. As the Chief of Police, he profoundly believes in strengthening the Patrol Division.
