SANDBAGS AVAILABLE TO LAFAYETTE PARISH RESIDENTS 

Lafayette, LA - With the possibility of tropical weather affecting Lafayette Parish, residents are encouraged to prepare now, especially those who live in areas prone to flooding. 

Sandbag sites are open throughout the parish. All locations are self-bagging, and residents must bring their own shovel and manpower. Sites are open around the clock, but residents are encouraged to get sandbags during daylight hours. 

Residents who need assistance filling and loading sandbags should call the Public Works Dispatch line at 337-291-8517. 

LAFAYETTE CITY AND PARISH SANDBAG LOCATIONS

  • North District site at 400 Dugas Road (located off North University Avenue)
  • Picard Park, 130 Park Lane
  • Brown Park, 1234 E Pont des Mouton Road (opening after 12 p.m. today)
  • Robicheaux Recreation Center, 1919 Eraste Landry Road (opening after 12 p.m. today)

Bags Per Household

  • Please limit sandbags to four bags per exterior door
  • Maximum of 20 sandbags per household

  • Deer Meadow Subdivision (corner of Deer Meadow Boulevard and Myette Point Street)
  • Broadview Drive (by Broussard Community Center)
