OFFICE OF FINANCE AND MANAGEMENT RECEIVES PRESTIGIOUS AWARD

Celebrating six consecutive years of financial reporting excellence

Lafayette, LA – For the sixth consecutive year, the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to Lafayette Consolidated Government (LCG) for its annual, comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ending October 31, 2020. 

Each year the GFOA awards governments that meet the program’s high standards which include publishing a comprehensive and organized report and one that is relatable to the public. “This is our financial story that affects our community. Besides accuracy and comprehensiveness, our staff strives to convey information that is easily understandable and interesting to read,” LCG Chief Financial Officer Lorrie Toups said.

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting. This year, LCG received a “Proficient” rating across the board with no comments or suggestions for improvements.
