TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF GENERAL MOUTON AVENUE FOR SEWER INFRASTRUCTURE REPAIRS

Lafayette, LA –Lafayette Consolidated Government (LCG) announces the temporary closure of General Mouton Avenue between Lamar Street and McKinley Street from Monday, March 10, through Friday, March 14, 2025. The closure is necessary to allow a contractor for Lafayette Utilities System (LUS) to perform sewer infrastructure repairs within the roadway.

During this time, detour routes will be in place to ensure smooth traffic flow. Motorists are advised to use the following alternative routes:

• McKinley Street
• Cleveland Street
• Lamar Street

Local access for residents and businesses within the work zone will be maintained throughout the closure. Motorists are encouraged to exercise caution when traveling in the area and to plan for potential delays.
