Judith Estorge, Chief of the Lafayette Police Department

Chief Judith Estorge is a Lafayette native who attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, earning a degree in Criminal Justice. Following her time at UL Lafayette, Estorge joined the Lafayette Police Department in 1993. Since then, she’s served as a Patrol Officer, Traffic/Motor Officer, Detective in CID, Sergeant in Precinct 3, Watch Commander, and Commander/Captain of Precinct 4 before being appointed as Chief of Police in 2022. Chief Estorge is the first-ever female Chief of Police at the Lafayette Police Department.
