Mayor-President Monique B. Boulet

Monique B. Boulet took office in January 2024 as Lafayette Parish’s first female Mayor-President. Known for integrity, transparency, and results-driven leadership, she brings federal, state, and local partners together to advance infrastructure and revitalization projects

She previously served as CEO of the Acadiana Planning Commission, where she led major initiatives in rural broadband, watershed management, transportation planning, and regional economic development. Before public service, she worked in strategic planning for a private oilfield start-up.

Boulet holds an Executive MBA from UL Lafayette. She and her husband, David, have four children. She is the daughter of the late Governor Kathleen Babineaux Blanco and Raymond “Coach” Blanco and is a proud Lafayette native.
