DAILY CLOSURES OF DEBUTANTE ROAD SCHEDULED FOR DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS

Lafayette, LA – Debutante Road will be closed daily at the Beau Bassin Coulee crossing, located approximately 0.44 miles east of N. University Avenue (LA 182). The closure will be in effect from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. beginning Tuesday, August 19, through Thursday, August 21, 2025.

Public Works Drainage crews will be installing and repairing drainage culverts using an innovative method known as Culvert Repair Solution with Inland Tarp and Liner’s Reinforced Concrete Roll. This technology offers a modern alternative to traditional methods such as full pipe replacement or standard concrete box culverts.

The Reinforced Concrete Roll process provides a less disruptive, more cost-effective, and time-efficient solution while still delivering long-term strength and durability. By using the Reinforced Concrete Roll, LCG can minimize traffic impacts and prioritize other critical infrastructure improvements.

Detour routes will be clearly marked, and local access will be maintained throughout the project.

The detour routes include:

• N. University Avenue (LA 182)
• I-49 South Service Road
