LAFAYETTE PARC “PINK PICNIC” BRINGS COMMUNITY TOGETHER FOR BREAST CANCER AWARENESS
Lafayette, LA – Lafayette’s Parks,
Arts, Recreation & Culture (PARC) Department invites the public to join in
a community celebration at the Pink Picnic with PARC, recognizing Breast
Cancer Awareness Month. The event will take place on Friday, October 17,
2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Girard Park Pavilion (500
Girard Park Drive, Lafayette, LA).
The Pink Picnic is not only an
outdoor gathering, but also a moment to honor survivors, raise awareness, and
support those impacted by breast cancer. Community members of all ages are
encouraged to wear pink, bring their favorite picnic snacks, and enjoy food,
dancing, and wellness resourced in a relaxed and uplifting atmosphere.
Picnic highlights include:
· Free burgers on the grill – The Lafayette City Marshal’s Office will be grilling 200 burgers (first-come, first-served) for attendees.
· Pack your picnic goodies – Guests are encouraged to bring their favorite picnic snacks, sides, or lunches to enjoy in the park.
· Line dance for the cure – Outdoor dance class led by Corey “Spoken Red” will get the crowd moving and celebrating together.
· Wear pink with pride – Attendees are asked to show support by wearing pink attire.
·
Community
resources – Local
health and wellness organizations will provide valuable information and
resources for attendees.
This event is free and open to
the public. Families, friends, and community members are encouraged to bring
blankets, lawn chairs, and their best dance moves for an afternoon of
connection and celebration.
