PARC LAUNCHES ONLINE RESERVATIONS FOR ACADIANA PARK CAMPGROUND & NATURE STATION AHEAD OF FESTIVAL SEASON
Lafayette, LA – Lafayette Consolidated Government’s Parks, Arts, Recreation, and Culture (PARC) Department is continuing its commitment to accessibility and innovation with the expansion of its CivicRec platform to include online reservations for the Acadiana Park Campground and the Nature Station.
Originally launched in September of 2025, CivicRec marked the first time Lafayette residents had access to a centralized, online reservation system for PARC facilities, replacing a process that previously required in-person visits, phone calls, paper forms. Since its initial rollout, the platform has supported more than 893 reservations, demonstrating strong community adoption and reinforcing PARC’s long-term vision for a more convenient, user-friendly experience. The addition of Acadiana Park Campground and Nature Station reservations represents Phase II of that vision, continuing PARC’s commitment to expanding online access across its full portfolio of recreational assets.
Residents and visitors can now browse availability and secure reservations at any time for more than 70 sites at the Acadiana Park Campground, along with access to the Nature Station, which features a kayak launch, walking and jogging trails, native wildlife, a meeting room, and a nature museum. Together, these spaces provide opportunities for outdoor recreation, environmental education, and family-friendly experiences.
Just in time for peak travel season (and as Lafayette prepares to welcome visitors for Festival International de Louisiane) this expansion makes it easier than ever to plan ahead and enjoy Lafayette’s outdoor offerings.
“This expansion is exactly what we envisioned when we launched CivicRec,” said Brian McGrath, Interim Director of Parks, Arts, Recreation and Culture. “By continuing to bring more amenities online, we’re not only improving convenience for our residents but also supporting Lafayette’s growth as a destination for outdoor recreation.”
Through the CivicRec platform, users can view real-time availability, select preferred dates, and complete reservations in minutes. Reservations can be made same-day, based on availability, or in advance, offering flexibility for both spontaneous outings and planned trips.
This effort is part of a broader digital modernization initiative across Lafayette Consolidated Government aimed at enhancing service delivery, improving transparency, and meeting residents where they are—online.
